Aggrieved members of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti have staged a protest at the Jubilee park in Kumasi to register their displeasure with government over lack of jobs.
The identifiable group which is an amalgamation of the elephant movement, elephant soldiers, NPP vibrant group, Bantama Florida fun group expressed their disappointment in the executives and appointees of the party for neglecting them after winning the 2016 and 2020 elections.
Claded in the colours of the party with placards, the group asked the executives of the party to come to their aid because they are suffering.
"We have done a lot for this party and we are expecting meaningful jobs and opportunities but we have not seen anything since 2016.
We are not working, as I am talking, government has said they are creating jobs and have done so in the past but we have not received any job offer or opportunity.
Today is Wednesday, and we are giving them a 3-day ultimatum to address our concerns or we will advise ourselves before the national delegates conference takes place", Emmanuel Ampiah Mensah lead convenor of the group insisted.
This is the second time in a week, a group have protested for bad treatment from party leadership.
The party is expected to hold it's annual national delegates conference in the region from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th December, 2021 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
