On Monday, GES Director-General Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwa saw the presentation of laptops to teachers at O'Reilly Senior High School in Accra.
The Director-General dismissed the notion that the TM1 Laptops were of inferior quality merely because they did not come from one of the well-known computer companies when he presented them.
The DG of GES stated that "even the most basic smartphone does not cost less than GH 500.00" and that if a "teacher is parting with such an amount to buy a laptop, that cannot be considered as shortchanging the teacher."
In a similar event, after the vice president of Ghana handed over the computers to the Ghana Education Service, many people have called for the laptops to be avoided.
According to a video released by a SHS tutor who received his TM1 laptop, the laptop has started giving him problems after failing to boot just a week after receiving it.
