Chelsea's form may be a cause for concern, but Everton appear to be exactly the type of opponent Thomas Tuchel would have preferred.

Rafa Benitez is facing a lot of pressure at Goodison Park after his side has only won one of their last six games. Arsenal may have made a mistake, but the manner in which they lost to Crystal Palace on Sunday will be extremely worrying.

Without star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and more injuries in the build-up to tonight's Premier League game at Stamford Bridge, Benitez faces yet another difficult task in facing the European champions.

Chelsea, like title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool, has a very favorable fixture to navigate as the fixture schedule ramps up in order to keep the pace at the top of the league.

Date, start time, and location

On Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 19:45 p.m., the Premier League game will take place.

The venue will be London's Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea vs Everton: Where to Watch

The game will be broadcast on BT Sport 2 on television.

Subscribers to BT Sport will be able to watch the game live on their website or via the BT Sport App.

Standard Sport's LIVE match blog will keep you up to date on all of the action. From Stamford Bridge, James Robson will be reporting.

Chelsea vs Everton team news

Chelsea's injury problems are finally easing ahead of their match against Everton, but N'Golo Kante will have to wait for his first start since sustaining a knee injury last month.

Because the France midfielder will be on the bench for tonight's match at Stamford Bridge, Thomas Tuchel is likely to stick with the central midfield pairing of Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

After returning from an ankle injury, Romelu Lukaku could start his first Premier League game since October 16 – but he is still not considered fit enough to play the full 90 minutes.

Everton, on the other hand, will be without Richarlison, Seamus Coleman, and Andros Townsend, who were all injured in Sunday's loss to Crystal Palace.

Prediction for Chelsea vs. Everton

Tuchel's side has been leaking goals recently, but they haven't been particularly prolific while some key attackers are out of play.

Crucially, Everton have also been struggling defensively, so Chelsea should have enough to overcome them.
