The Dormaahene and President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyeman Badu, seeks to know from government the offense the region committed leading to the abandonment of the Sunyani Airport and other initiatives in the region.
According to him, the Bono region has been discriminated against by previous governments and the current government.
He said projects that are initiated in the region are either poorly executed or abandoned.
According to him, other airports across the country such as the one in Ho, Tamale, Wa, and Kumasi have seen facelifts over the years except the Sunyani airport which has been abandoned for five years now.
He posed a question seeking to know their fault.
“What crime have the people of Bono committed to being treated this way? Look at the rate of development in other regions as compared to what is transpiring in Bono," he said.
He called on government to "as a matter of urgency" ensure that all abandoned projects are completed particularly the Sunyani airport.
