RONALDO has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the wake of Manchester United's disappointing start to the season.

Real Madrid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo is a transfer rumour that has been circulating for a few weeks. Some say the 36-year-old will not play in the Europa League next season because Manchester United is battling to qualify for the Champions League. As a result of this, Los Blancos have been linked with a move for the Portugal international.
Manchester United has had a difficult season as a whole.
However, after returning from Juventus this season, Ronaldo has exceeded expectations, scoring 13 goals in all competitions, more than any other player in the club.
However, with United battling to finish in the top four of the Premier League, the veteran has found himself in the spotlight once more.
Despite Florentino Perez and Carlo Ancelotti's repeated denials, talk of a move to Real Madrid has resurfaced in recent weeks.
And Ronaldo has already hinted at a return to the Bernabeu later this season.
In the summer, the 36-year-old made it clear on Instagram that his time in Madrid had come to an end - and that he would not be returning.

It was an uncommon move from the forward, who had never done anything like it despite being linked with a return to Manchester United every year since leaving the club in 2009.
Ronaldo penned: "My Real Madrid story has been written. It's been documented.
"In numbers and words, trophies and titles, records and headlines. It's on display in the Bernabeu Stadium museum, and it's on everyone's mind who supports the team.
"Apart from the most recent incident in Spain, there has been a steady stream of news and tales linking me to a variety of clubs in various leagues, with no one ever bothering to investigate the facts.
"I'm breaking my quiet now to declare that I can't let people play with my name any longer.

"I remain devoted and prepared for all of the challenges that I will experience in my career and at work. What about the rest of it? Everything else is merely rhetoric.
Ronaldo did eventually depart Juventus for Manchester United.
He had previously appeared to be on his way to Manchester City, who had turned to him after missing out on Harry Kane.
However, as soon as United was involved, everything changed.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was manager at the time, as well as Bruno Fernandes, Rio Ferdinand, and Patrice Evra, persuaded Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson also called to convince the No. 7 that United was the finest place for him.
So Ronaldo returned - and hasn't let anyone down since.
While a move to Real Madrid appears unlikely considering his prior remarks and United's desire to maintain their star player, Steve McManaman recently stated that another term in Spain 'wasn't inconceivable.'
"It's not out of the question." Nothing is impossible when it comes to Real Madrid," he stated in his Horse Racing.net column.
"Because they haven't spent much in recent years, they now have a large financial reserve to spend."
"They've been refurbishing the stadium, and then COVID happened, so Real, like other clubs, has been getting ready for when they come out the other side."

"The Bernabeu's refurbishment virtually represents a new birth for Real Madrid. There are numerous options for players to join Real Madrid."
Ronaldo's return to Real, according to McManaman, will only be conceivable in 2023. I
"They have the means to compete against other teams, and if Mbappe departs, it makes it even more appealing for other players to go," he added.
"Cristiano might return, but I believe he will stay at Manchester United for another year and then decide."
