The Ghana Education Service (GES) has outlined its reasons for sacking Michael Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Teacher Kwadwo.
A release signed by the Deputy Director-General of Education in the Ashanti Region, Anthony Boateng, says that the Akrofuom District Disciplinary Committee reported that Teacher Kwadwo absented himself from class without permissions for 55 days since January, 2021.
It was also reported by the committee that Teacher Kwadwo did not have lesson notes although he was directed to do so.
Also, the committee said Teacher Kwadwo exercised a great deal of disrespect towards authorities in the district.
According to the release, even though the committee recommended that Teacher Kwadwo be reassigned to a different school, management rejected the proposal and therefore decided to terminate the contract with the teacher until further notice.
