Members of Parliament were unable to suppress their emotions and nearly resorted to blows over the e-levy policy.
The Member of Parliament for Bekwai who doubles as first deputy speaker, Joe Wise, presided over the proceedings on Monday night but when it was time for the MPs to vote on the controversial e-levy, he attempted to vote.
This has caused a brouhaha with some MPs nearly exchanging blows.
The NDC caucus says it is against the standing orders of the house for one who sits in the speaker's chair to vote.
The leadership of the two caucuses are currently engaged in consultations.
