In the University of Cape Coast (UCC), there are eight traditional halls of residence for undergraduate students and about a thousand hostels privately managed by some individuals.
A newly admitted undergrad is automatically assigned to one of the traditional halls and after a year in the hall, the student arranges for a hostel for him/herself.
The eight traditional halls of residence are:
Kwame Nkrumah Hall, Valco Hall, Casely Hayford Hall, Oguaa Hall, Atlantic Hall, Adehye Hall, SRC Hall, and Superannuation.
There are other halls like the Valco Trust Hall and Alumni Hall that are meant for post-graduate students.
