In 2020, the Asakaa genre of music became dominant in the country after the likes of Yaw Tog, Braa Benk, Kawabanga, Jay Bhad and the whole Asakaa crew made waves. This genre has certainly come to stay. Asakaa is being considered a religion by most music lovers now.
We're in the festive season and the Asakaa boys recently granted an interview on radio. They were asked why they've not been the face of any programme this December and they gave a very worrying answer. According to Braa Benk of the Asakaa group, they are not on any programme this December because of the selfish behaviour of event organisers. He continued by saying they were reached out by many event organisers who intended to book them for shows this December.
When it got to the business side of the discussion, it was obvious almost every event organiser who talked to them expected them to perform for free. Other organisers preferred booking certain people on the group rather than the whole Asakaa team. Such people believed booking one person on the team will drag the rest along to the show. That couldn't make it possible. They continued registering their displeasure by saying an event organiser promised them a flight to the location so they could go and perform freely. 'This is not fair at all', they said.
The Asakaa boys have their own show at the Heroes Park( Baba Yara) on 25th December at exactly 4pm. That's the MADE IN KUMERICA CONCERT It's going to be lit! Just grab your tickets.
