Chelsea injury news: All of the latest Blues injury updates ahead of Wednesday's match against Brighton & Hove Albion at 19:30 GMT
Chelsea can move above Liverpool in the Premier League table this evening after the Reds slipped up at Leicester City on Tuesday night.
Jurgen Klopp's side had a penalty saved by Kasper Schmeichel in the first half at the King Power Stadium, but Mohamed Salah's spot-kick was saved.
The Foxes then took the lead in the second half through Ademola Lookman and held on despite a barrage of Liverpool attacks.
So, if Chelsea avoids defeat against Brighton today, they will be able to leapfrog Liverpool, but Thomas Tuchel has a few issues in his squad.
So, with that in mind, football.london has compiled a list of all the latest Chelsea injury news ahead of tonight's match.
Kai Havertz and N'Golo Kante
Kante was one of Chelsea's standout performers in their 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday, but he was replaced in the second half.
Blues fans speculated at the time that Tuchel was shielding the midfielder, who had struggled with injuries in recent months.
However, speaking after the game on Sunday, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho confirmed that Kante was in pain and that was why he was substituted.
Meanwhile, Havertz has been ill for a few weeks and has missed the last few games, his most recent appearance coming against Leeds United.
The Chelsea duo, on the other hand, were spotted in training on Tuesday, suggesting that they could be in contention for tonight's match.
Thiago Silva
Silva was substituted after 52 minutes at Villa Park due to a hamstring injury, and it appears that the Brazil defender will miss the match against Brighton.
Tuchel has stated: "Thiago's hamstring was the culprit. Hopefully, he was able to leave before it became an injury, and we will try to continue and find a new and strong squad on Wednesday."
Date of expected return: N/A
Timo Werner
Werner was one of the Chelsea players who tested positive for Covid-19 prior to the club's match against Everton earlier this month.
However, there has been no word on when the Germany forward will return to action.
Date of expected return: N/A
Chilwell, Ben
Chilwell is set to miss the rest of the season after it was revealed that the Chelsea defender will have knee surgery on the injury he sustained last month.
Expected return date: Summer 2022
