Leader and Founder of Alive Church International, Bishop Salifu Amoako, has advised the Ghana Police Service to retract a warning made against making prophecies on the night of December 31 and beyond.
Speaking on Onua Tv on December 29, he said if the police fail to call off the directive, they will face the anger of the Most High, God.
Salifu Amoako believes that the warning against prophecies is an attack on the prophetic ministry and comes with its repercussions.
The Ghana Police Service on Tuesday, December 27, 2021, called on religious groups across the country to avoid making pronouncements that can instigate fear and panic.
The police said it is constitutionally unacceptable to hide under the auspices of prophethood to make prophecies that cause injury to peoples' lives or cause fear and panic.
The police indicated that false alarm or doom prophecies without proper evidential backing can make one spend up to five years in jail.
“We want to caution that under Ghanaian law, it is a crime for a person to publish or reproduce a statement, rumour or report which is likely to cause fear and alarm to the public or to disturb the public peace, where that person has no evidence to prove that the statement, rumour or report is true."
The public, as well as religious groups, have been entreated to desist from doom prophecies in the country as it is unconstitutional.
However, Salifu Amoako believes that police are likely to incur God's wrath if the directive is not withdrawn.
