The CEO of Gilat Chemists Limited, Aaron Ohene Agyei, was shot by an armed man at Agric-Kromoase in the Ashanti Region but managed to drive for medical attention at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
While receiving emergency treatment, the victim said, the robber shot into his car at the forecourt of the pharmacy after he had finished robbing the staff inside the pharmacy.
Speaking to JoyNews, one of the two staff who identified herself as a brother to the victim said the gunman came into the pharmacy with a helmet on and attacked her together with another lady at a gunpoint.
She added that when the robber finished the operation, he found her brother who was already waiting for his employees outside in his car, and shot him in his stomach.
The pharmacist, despite bleeding and in anguish, managed to drive to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
The gunman reportedly made away with some cash and mobile phones.
This robbery comes following several cases of robbery attacks on pharmacies in most parts of Accra.
