GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES CANCELLATION OF TEACHER/NURSES TRAINING ALLOWANCE

The Minister of education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has announced the cancellation of the monthly allowance given to student nurses and teachers in government training institutions.

Making the announcement, the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe who doubles as the education minister did indicate government intends to replace the allowance with the students loan which they will pay after graduation.

"We are not cancelling allowance for nurses and teacher trainees, we are replacing it with student loan which they will pay after graduation", Dr. Adutwum.

The New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2016 elections promised a reversal of the cancellation by the then Mahama-led government. Even though, the NDC had a change of mind and started paying prior to the 2016 elections, it performed abysmally.
