According to rumours, Chelsea may attempt to sell three first-team players this month in order to raise finances for Thomas Tuchel's ailing championship hopefuls.
After a strong start to the season, the Blues have fallen behind Manchester City and are now eight points behind the league leaders.
As a result, Tuchel may attempt to make a transfer in order to re-energize his club and football in general.
Three players have been identified as being on the verge of being fired in London.
Ross Barkley, a midfielder, is thought to be the first to be put in jeopardy. Despite being brought in from the cold on occasion, he is well down the pecking order. His future at Stamford Bridge appears to be all but gone after failing to play the entire 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup against Brentford recently.
Barkley hasn't been able to match his previous achievements since joining the team in January 2018. He does, however, have 18 months left on his contract, which Chelsea might take advantage of.
However, whether or whether teams will be interested in signing him is a another storey, as his current club is sure to demand a reasonable fee.
Another player listed by the same site as being close to the departure door is Hakim Ziyech. They have stated that he must move on "for the sake of his career."
Mason Mount, Timo Werner, and Kai Havertz are consistently ahead of Ziyech in Tuchel's mind, and he has failed to impress when given the opportunity.
With Werner and Havertz still out, it's becoming increasingly probable that the playmaker's opportunities will be limited this season.
Given his successes at Ajax, there is no doubt that he will attract a lot of attention, but his time at Chelsea has been a disappointment, and a move elsewhere is not out of the question.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, on the other hand, is the final player. Another midfielder who has had to make do with cameo appearances this season, he has failed to create an impression. Loftus-minutes Cheek's have been cut even more due to the poor loan signing of Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid.
According to the article, it may only be a matter of time before the club signs another midfielder, signalling the end of Loftus-tenure Cheek's in west London.
