Manchester United's problem may be a leadership crisis. it is the Coach who selects the players. Why put a player who won't play for you on the team list?
If the players aren't happy playing for you, they need no business playing for you. We see players who played so poorly, match after match and still get playing time. What the coach is saying is, i prefer the result such players give me.
A few months back, Liverpool was at a its worst, Klopp came bent say he's the matter . He also said the players weren't mentally fresh. He was ready to turn things around.
Chelsea was worse under Frank Lampard, today Thomas Tuchel is doing amazing with an equivalent players. Arsenal wasn't doing well, change of Coach helped their situation because of Mikel Arteta. Tottenham wasn't doing well, today, they're playing well because of Antonio Conte.
You can't put a sheep because the head of lions and need them to win the race of lions. albeit you set a lion responsible of sheep, during a race of sheep, they're going to win, the attitude and result are going to be different.
Manchester United needs a true Coach and not a education Teacher. No room for experience at this point .
