The all girls school, Mfantsiman Girls senior high school School, formerly Saltpond Girls lyceum is found within the Central Region of Ghana.


The name was changed to Mfantsiman after the district of Saltpond became Mfantsiman district. Established in 1960 by Ghana's first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the motto of the varsity is "Obra ne woara bo" meaning life is what you create of it.


The school which is additionally popularly referred to as Syte is arguably the varsity which has churned out most female personalities within the entertainment and media space.

Gifty Anti


Born and bred in Tema, the alumna of Mfantsiman Girls who had wanted to review Land Economy at KNUST but failed in her bid eventually ended up in broadcast journalism. She has been on our screens for years because the breakfast show host and news presenter at Ghana Television (GTV).


In 2008, the CEO of GDA Concepts launched her own chat show "The Standpoint" which addresses issues affecting women.


She is married to Nana Ansah Kwao IV, chief of Akwamu Adumasa who is additionally a media personality and that they are blessed a daughter.




Shirley Frimpong Manso


The award winning filmmaker who hails from Kwaku Pepease is that the CEO of now Sparrow Pictures. After Mfantsiman girls where she wrote and starred within the school's drama plays, she has worked within the media space having worked at Radio Gold. She also graduated from the National Film and tv Institute (NAFTI) and later started Sparrow Productions. Her company at some point managed the Miss Ghana pageant and produced series like Different reminder Blue.


She produced her first feature , Life And Living It in 2007 and has gone to churn out award winning hit movies and series from Scorned, the right Picture, A Sting during a Tale, Adams Apples series and lots of more.


She features a son with Ken Attoh.




Nadia Buari


After education at Mfantsiman Girls, Nadia enrolled at the varsity of humanistic discipline , University of Ghana where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree. She made her debut within the series Games People Play in 2005 and has starred in movies like Mummy's Daughter, Holding Hope, Beyonce; The President's Daughter, Beyonce And Rihanna playing the role alongside Nigerian Actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and a number of other others.


She went on to supply her debut movie "Diary of Imogen Brown" in 2013 and has subsequently produced "Deranged" starring alongside Ramsey Noah, Zynnell Zuh et al. .


Nadia Buari has four children.

Yvonne Okoro


Yvonne who is born to a Ghanaian mother and a Nigerian father attended Achimota prep school , Lincoln Community School, Faith Montessori before Mfantsiman Girls for her education . She got admission to college of Ghana, Legon where she earned a BA degree in English and Linguistics. She subsequently visited University de Nantes in France where she studied Press Civilization, Drama and Marketing.


Yvonne has starred in several movies both in Ghana and Nigeria and made her debut as a producer within the hit movie Contract. She has gone on to supply Ghana Must Go movie also as a cooking show she hosts on TV called "Dining With, Cooks and Braggarts".


Eazzy


Born Mildred Ashong, the Ghanaian singer, songwriter and rapper who may be a former signee of Lynx Entertainment has hits like Wengeze, Bo wonsem ma me, One Gal, Twinkle, Kpakposhito et al. .


After Mfantsiman Girls, she visited University of Professional Studies and features a Postgraduate with the Chartered Institute of selling within the uk .

Shatta Michy


Originally born Diamond Michelle in Norway, Shatta Michy may be a musician and businesswoman. Having attended Mfantsiman Girls, she has songs like Spend di money, Grow Bad, Cheating. Michy has also featured on Shatta Wale's Tempo and Nautyca's Amapiano tune "OK". She came into prominence together with her association with Shatta Wale and that they have a son called Majesty.


Amanda Jissih



Radio/Television Personality and Actress Amanda Jissih is additionally an old student of Mfantsiman Girls senior high school School. Having worked with the Multimedia Group at Hitz FM, She was also host of E Talk on GHOne Television. She has hosted variety of shows and events and has been involved in music and PR for artistes also . She has starred during a few productions include the series from Sparrow Pictures "21 days inside" and therefore the recently released Christian movie in cinemas "A Happy Surprise".


Caroline Sampson


Born and bred in Tema, Caroline at Mfantsiman Girls participated during a lot of activities including dancing, performing and hosting shows in and out of doors school. She was an executive with GUNSA and therefore the Writers, Drama and Debators Club in class .


Her career began as a contestant with the Miss Malika pageant organized by Charterhouse in 2005 which gave her a platform. She has since hosted shows from U-win Game on GTV to Hitz Video, a music video program which aired on TV3 then to ETV and YFm owned by parent company Global Media Alliance. She later moved to Kwese Sports as host of the station's breakfast show and later hosted field house on an equivalent channel.


While on TV, she has also worked on radio from Atlantis to Citi FM, then YFM and now with Asaase Radio.


Caroline features a degree from the African University College of Communications.


Arguably Mfantsiman Girls has gifted Ghana with these personalities who have contributed in diverse ways from empowering women, shaping the media and entertainment space and other impactful avenues.
