A pair of California twins have made history after being born in two different years separated by only 15 minutes.
According to a report from People, Fatima Madrigal, the woman at the center of the record-breaking, went into labor on New Year's Eve at 11:45 p.m. and gave birth to a son named Alfredo.
Madrigal and her husband Robert Trujillo had their second child, a girl named Aylin, 15 minutes after the new year began.
This means that the new bundle of joy's birthdays are distinct in terms of date, month, and year.
The pleased mother expressed her delight at the fact that the second twin came at midnight, giving the twins separate birthdays.
The rare incident, according to family doctor Dr. Ana Abril Arias, was one of the most memorable deliveries of her career.
She went on to say that it had been an amazing joy to be in charge of making sure the twins were delivered safely in separate years.
