Controversial dancehall musician and Founder of the Shatta Movement, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has threatened to fight against bloggers who peddle false information.
According to him, he will ensure that one Ghanaian blogger is imprisoned this year.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, January 4, the controversial singer has declared 2022 as a year to be on the necks of bloggers who mislead the masses with their reportages.
He alleged that bloggers in Nigeria focus on supporting their celebrities while Ghanaian bloggers are busily disseminating fallacious information.
The dancehall artiste said, he urged "one great police officer" to regulate the activities of bloggers in order to instill discipline in the country.
He disclosed that he is going to "fight bloggers this year" just as he launched a campaign against pastors who prophesy doom in the country back in 2021.
"This year alone I want to make sure one blogger goes to prison and learn what is being a professional …
Whilst Nigerian bloggers deh praise their own in this current situation ,
Ghanaian bloggers are spreading false info in the country ..
This is what I told one Great police officer that if they don’t check these things there won’t be any disciplines in the country …
I fought for false prophecies
And I will again fight bloggers this year
Watch me !!!
Shatta wale !!!
#NGP," he wrote.
This post comes after he verbally attacked Nigerian musicians during a musical performance at the Accra Sports stadium in December, 2021.
He described Nigerian artistes as "fucken artistes" who don't want the success of the Ghanaian music industry.
This has stirred massive pandemonium on social media with many public figures such as Yul Edochie describing Shatta's utterance as something that is below the belt.
It has also resulted into a feud between Shatta Wale and a Nigerian musician, Burna Boy leading to the two exchanging unpalatable words.
A few days ago, Burna Boy resorted to Instagram to call on Shatta Wale to face him for a fist.
He also accused Shatta Wale of attempting to rape a lady he brought to Ghana some time back.
However, Shatta Wale has extended his frustration to Ghanaian bloggers who he said, do not support their own, unlike Nigerian bloggers.
