After disciplinary issues, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku will return. Spurs are awaiting the results of PCR tests; watch Chelsea vs Tottenham live on Sky Sports Football from 7 p.m. on Wednesday; kick-off 7.45 p.m.

After disciplinary issues against Tottenham, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku will return.

Lukaku has apologized for revealing his dissatisfaction with Chelsea in a recent interview, and Timo Werner could play for the first time since December 11 after Covid-19.

Andreas Christensen is questionable due to back pain, while Trevoh Chalobah will be checked late due to a recurrence of his previous thigh problem.

Tottenham is awaiting the results of PCR tests to determine the scope of their most recent coronavirus outbreak.

Antonio Conte stated that his team had a "couple of issues" with some unnamed players in the build-up to the game and that they will see how it develops before Wednesday night's game.

This will be Chelsea and Tottenham's eighth League Cup meeting, and the fourth to take place in the competition's semi-finals - no two teams have met in the League Cup final four more frequently. Chelsea has advanced/won four of their previous seven League Cup meetings against Tottenham, including two of the previous three semi-finals (1971-72 and 2018-19).

* In the League Cup, Tottenham has never won away against Chelsea, drawing one and losing three of their four visits to Stamford Bridge. Tottenham have gone winless in their last eight games against Chelsea in all competitions (D2 L6) since winning three in a row between 2018 and 2019. Chelsea have advanced from five of their last seven League Cup semi-finals, failing only once in 2012-13 (vs Swansea) and once in 2017-18 (vs Arsenal).

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has stated that returning to his former club Chelsea, where he won the Premier League title, will be an emotional experience.

Antonio Conte insists he has nothing to prove to Chelsea ahead of his first return to Stamford Bridge since being fired as manager in 2018.

Conte joined Chelsea in 2016 after they finished 10th in the Premier League, but he oversaw an incredible turnaround in his first season, culminating in the west Londoners winning the title.

The Italian also helped the Blues win the FA Cup in his second season, but that was his final game and he was fired after months of disagreements with the club's hierarchy over transfers.

Conte then stepped away from the game for a season before joining Inter Milan.

where he led the team to their first Serie A title in over a decade before joining Chelsea's bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur in November.

The 52-year-old has had a good start in north London, with only one defeat in his first 11 games, and is now preparing to take Tottenham to Chelsea for the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

While Conte stated that he is excited to return to Stamford Bridge, he added, "I think in my position, I mustn't prove anything to anyone." Conte added, "I am a manager with experience and I have continued to do an important job in other teams."
