Rio Ferdinand has fired a warning shot at five Manchester United players, requesting that they respond fast. Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Wan-Bissaka, and Harry Maguire, according to the renowned defender, have not been at their best this season.
Manchester United has struggled this season and is currently a long way behind league leaders Manchester City. To get things straight, they fired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but Ralf Rangnick has yet to show any signs of progress. Five Manchester United players were singled out by Rio Ferdinand when speaking on his YouTube channel. Sancho, Wan-Bissaka, Rashford, Cavani, and club captain Maguire are among the players he has yet to see at their best this season, according to him.
"I think there's a lot to improve on, both in terms of individuals and in terms of team shape, because it doesn't seem to suit certain players at the moment; we haven't seen the [Jadon] Sancho of Dortmund, [Marcus] Rashford looks like a shadow of his former self, [Edinson] Cavani isn't firing, [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka is shot of confidence, and [Harry] Maguire is lacking. Rio Ferdinand is ecstatic. Phil Jones, a Manchester United star, returned to the starting XI against Wolverhampton and was their best player on the pitch. The defender was unable to assist the Red Devils in their 1-0 loss against Wolves, owing to a Joao Moutinho goal.
Jones' performance was commended by Ferdinand, who said:
‘’You have to give someone a tip of the hat for coming in from the cold like that. I'm simply relieved he didn't sustain any injuries during the game. It's not simple to put up a decent performance after such a long layoff. So you have to give a nod to Phil Jones. Although his header dropped on [Joao] Moutinho's foot before he scored, I thought he was excellent for extended stretches of the game."
Manchester United now has two games against Aston Villa next week, the first in the FA Cup on Monday at Old Trafford and the second in the Premier League on Saturday at Villa Park.
