Some members of Teacher Union; Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) are contemplating packing out due to numerous outstanding issues including the “One Teacher, One Laptop” initiative
“There are some colleagues who are planning to leave the Union to join others, we will want to plead with them to rescind that decision as we all fight for the right things to be done for every teacher to be at peace within the Union”, GNAT National Executives during their recent congress in Kumasi revealed.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) says it has distributed about 80% of the 62,000 laptops to teachers in Senior High Schools under the project.
However, some teacher unions in the country including GNAT are raising several concerns including procurement process.
In a press release from the leadership of GNAT, it has admonished members to be more interested in the activities of the Union moving forward so as to bring views on board.
