Ross Barkley, a Chelsea midfielder, is said to be eager to stay at Stamford Bridge and compete for a starting spot. In recent months, a number of Premier League clubs, including Leeds United, have expressed interest in the former Everton star.

Ross Barkley believes he has a chance to break into Thomas Tuchel's starting lineup in the second part of the 2021-22 season, according to the Daily Mail.

This season, the midfielder has become a more important member of Chelsea's team, making 12 appearances in all competitions for the club.

Ross Barkley progressed through Everton's youth system before making his first-team debut in the 2011-12 season. During his time with the Merseyside club, he swiftly established himself as one of the best prospects in English football.

Prior to his £15 million move to Chelsea in January 2018, he made 179 appearances for Everton and scored 27 goals in all competitions.

Barkley was an important member of the Blues' team during the 2018-19 season, appearing 48 times in all competitions for the club and assisting them in winning the UEFA Europa League.

During the 2019-20 season, Barkley, on the other hand, dropped farther down the pecking order. He only appeared in 21 Premier League games for the club, scoring one goal.

Last season, the midfielder was loaned to Aston Villa for a season, scoring three goals in 24 league games before returning last summer. Ross Barkley was generally anticipated to depart Chelsea last summer, but he chose to stay and compete for a position in the starting XI at Stamford Bridge.

Due to an injury crisis in Chelsea's midfield, Barkley has been given regular playing time this season. Barkley is said to want to stay in West London despite being linked with a move to Leeds United during the current transfer window.

Chelsea will most likely rely on players like Ross Barkley and Saul Niguez in the second half of the season. Chelsea is currently second in the Premier League table. Manchester City leads the Premier League by ten points.

This season, Thomas Tuchel's team is one of the favourites to win the Champions League. The Premier League titans, on the other hand, have been hit hard by injuries to important players this season. In recent weeks, a number of their star players have tested positive for COVID-19.

As a result, the Blues will most likely rely on fringe players like Ross Barkley, Saul Niguez, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to deliver in the second half of the 2021-22 season.
