RALF RANGNICK HAS A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO FIX MANCHESTER UNITED'S £50 MILLION SIGNING MISTAKE.

This month, RALF RANGNICK could be active in the transfer market.

When Ralf Rangnick was appointed temporary manager of Manchester United late last year, he was given the challenge of salvaging the club's season - and after a lackluster start to his Premier League tenure at Old Trafford, he may have to turn to the transfer market to do so.

Rangnick has presumably presided over a similarly dark era, rather than relieving the sadness and gloom that hung over Manchester following the sacking of club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In the early stages of his rule, the ex-RB Leipzig manager's vaunted gegenpressing tactic has failed to materialize. To make matters worse, certain United players don't seem to be a natural fit for his preferred tactical form.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, possibly the most at risk of being frozen out under Rangnick, is one of them.

United paid £50 million to sign Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2019, after the Croydon-born full-back impressed in his first season in the Premier League.

Wan-Bissaka has essentially claimed the right-back position at Old Trafford since then.

Although the 24-year-defensive old's abilities are strong, his lack of quality in the final third is threatening to end his Manchester United career.

Given Wan-flaws, Bissaka's it's no surprise that United is considering a £40 million move for Brighton's Tariq Lamptey, according to Mail Online.

Lamptey's dazzling start to life on the south coast since joining for a bargain £3 million from Chelsea in January 2020 has piqued the interest of United and a slew of other Premier League clubs. Earlier this month, Arsenal was connected with the quick full-back.

In Ralf, Aaron Wan-Bissaka appeared to be exposed.

After returning from a long-term hamstring injury earlier this season, Brighton have been employing Lamptey in a somewhat more advanced role, which says a lot about his importance in the final third and the quality he possesses in attacking circumstances.

And the 21-year-fast old's speed and explosive play down the right wing have rapidly become a signature of Graham Potter's outstanding side.

Given that Rangnick's favored 4-2-2-2 formation lays a strong focus on full-backs for width and attacking thrust, Wan-Bissaka appears to be out of his depth.

Lamptey, on the other hand, would fit in in with Rangnick's current tactical approach and would be a significant offensive boost over Wan-Bissaka.

Lamptey has also proven his worth on defense. Brighton presently have the league's fifth-best defensive record, thanks in large part to Lamptey's performance.

Since Rangnick took over at Old Trafford, the writing has been on the wall for Wan-Bissaka.

Diogo Dalot was named captain for United's first Premier League match, but the jury is still out on the Italian youth, who has struggled to find a regular starting berth since arriving in England in 2018.

The full-price back's tag could be the only potential stumbling block in United's pursuit of him.

Lamptey is supposedly valued at £30 million by United, which is considerably less than Brighton's £40 million assessment.

Lamptey has had an incredible impact in his first two years of senior football in the Premier League, and he'd be a significant upgrade over anyone United currently has at the club, so it's a no-brainer for the Old Trafford leadership to spend that money.

In fact, in today's inflated market, that price tag may even be considered a bargain for a young, British star still in his prime.

They paid more than they received for Wan-Bissaka, who has been badly exposed as a result of Rangnick's new philosophy.

Unfortunately, the former Palace man does not appear to match United's new image under Rangnick's supervision.

Lamptey, on the other hand, appears to be made for the German inventor.
