A notice from the Office of the University of Cape Coast (UCC)'s Registrar warns that students who are not able to register their courses for the 2021/2022 academic year within the first registration period will be compelled to pay "a flat fee of two hundred Ghana cedis (GHS 200.00)."
Registration of courses by both continuing and fresh students has commenced on January 15, 2021, and is expected to end on January 22, 2022.
However, students who are unable to register their courses within the first registration period, according to the University, will have to wait until the portal is opened for late registration.
The late registration period spans from January 24 to February 4, 2022, and comes with a slap of GHS 200.00 as a penalty.
After the final registration period which comes with a charge, no student will be allowed to register again and such a student is instructed to defer his or her program.
Meanwhile, although lectures are supposed to begin on Monday, January 17, the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has withdrawn its services across the country to demand better service conditions from the government.
