Whatsapp released an update to the already existing archive feature.This feature allows you to permanently hide chats without deleting them. There is even a feature that allows you to completely mute notifications from both private and group conversations. Prior to this update, messages immediately appear on top of the main chat when a new message is released.

With this new update,that problem is solved.

Here are all the steps in enabling the WhatsApp archive feature.

- Open WhatsApp and long tap on the particular private or group chat you would like to archive

- A few buttons will appear on top of your phone screen. Some of these buttons are pin, delete, mute, archive etc.

-Tap on archive. After completing this task, The archive button will immediately appear on top of your screen

Tap on it to retrieve all your achieved chat and even send and receive messages there.

- Tap on the 'archive' button

There you will see all your archived conversation

-Long tap on the chat you would like to remove from archive

- Two options will appear on top of your screen 'Delete' and 'Unarchive'

- Tap on Unarchive and the selected chat will be automatically moved to the main chat.
