The black stars captain Andre Ayew, has apologized to Ghanaians for their inability to perform in the ongoing AFCON21 tournament in Cameroon. Following a 3-2 defeat to Comoros, the team were crushed out of the tournament on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. For the first time in Ghana's history, the black stars failed to win a single game in an AFCON tournament.
“As the players calm our heads we take the criticism and apologize to the nation for not qualifying to the next stage. We are very disappointed”
“We didn’t make them proud and we take the responsibility for that. We didn’t have a good AFCON. The goals we conceded against Morocco and Gabon, you can see there was a lot of no luck” he added.
