A driver of a KIA truck with the registration number GX 89 -12 and another occupant have managed to dodge death when their vehicle caught fire near Obrumankoma FM in the Central Region.
The KIA truck was transporting foams when the incident happened and it is still not known what actually sparked the fire.
Speaking to an EIB correspondent, an eyewitness alleged that smoke was seen emanating from the foam, and suddenly, fire overpowered the whole vehicle.
Detecting the smoke, the driver together with his colleague ran out of the vehicle as fast as possible.
Before the arrival of the firemen, the youths who were around the scene collectively managed to control the fire.
Meanwhile, an explosion in Apiatse near Bogoso in the Western Region on Thursday has led to the death of scores of people with houses destroyed.
The explosion allegedly occurred due to a collision between a motorcycle and a gas tanker.
