Milovan Rajevac, the Black Stars' coach, has been fired following the team's humiliation in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
On Friday, the Ministry of Youth and Sports met with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to examine the team's poor performance.
According to the Ministry, the conversations were open and forward-thinking, and they have requested that the GFA assess the work of under-fire coach Milovan Rajevac and reassemble the Black Stars executive committee.
"Following the meeting, the Ministry instructed the Ghana Football Association to reassemble the Black Stars management committee in accordance with its mandate," read a statement signed by Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif.
"The Ministry made it obvious to the GFA that the Ghanaian public had lost faith in the Black Stars' technical team's ability to bring success."
"As a result, the Ministry requested that the GFA examine the technical team of the Black Stars, led by head coach Milovan Rajevac, for their work and capacity."
Ghana's first game ended in a 0-2 defeat against Morocco, and they were forced to share the spoils with Gabon.
They were defeated 3-2 by the Comoros Islands in a match that the four-time champions needed to win to keep their place in the competition.
Hundreds of enraged Ghanaians demanded that the coach be fired.
Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a former President of the GFA, for example, has asked for the entire squad to be disbanded.
He also demanded the appointment of a new coach, who should be allowed the freedom to work and select the players he believes are capable of delivering results.
When asked if the Black Stars should have a fresh set of players, Dr. Nayho Nyaho-Tamakloe replied, "Absolutely." That is precisely what should be done right now, given what I witnessed this evening.
"You can see for the first time that we have players who aren't paying attention to what they're doing because some of the goals that have come in are quite distressing." Some of the balls will not get in the net at all if you have a superb defense and are extremely focused."
"I feel the Black Stars should be completely disbanded, and then we should recruit a highly capable coach." "I feel such a capable coach should be given the opportunity to select the youngsters personally, and this must be done very fast because I believe we will have another AFCON next year," he remarked on Ghana's Tuesday January 18 program.
