Rajevac was brought in after CK Akonnor was sacked. Milo had previously led the Black Stars to the world cup in the past; with enviable performances.
The Black Stars were not doing so well; and Milo promised to revive the team. He promised to lead the Black Stars to victory in the AFCON and World Cup but things took a turn for the worse.
Ghana first played with Morocco and suffered a defeat. The second match with Gabon ended in a draw. Milo then said the Black Stars team was different and things were not the same like before.
“We don’t have the same team like 2010. Not enough time for preparations. We don’t have a player like Asamoah Gyan.”
The third match with Comoros ended in another devastating defeat. Ghana failed to qualify for the round of 16, exiting the group stage with only one point; one of the worst performances ever in a long time as the Black Stars always advance to the next round.
This was the performance under Milovan Rajevac after he resumed in 2021
