Crystal Palace won the match 1-3. Liverpool
The Premier League still has a title race, and we can thank Alisson Becker for that.
Liverpool believes their goalkeeper is the best in the world, and we saw why on Sunday at Selhurst Park.
"I told him, 'Thank you for saving our backside yet again!'" Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports after his team's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace, and it's no surprise. The brilliance of Brazil's No.1 ensured the Reds took three nervous, hard-fought points in south-east London.
The gap to Manchester City at the top of the table has narrowed for the first time in weeks. It is still at nine points.
, Liverpool, on the other hand, has a game in hand and will be boosted by the return of key players when they return to league action next month.
Remember, the 2019-20 champions must also visit the Etihad Stadium in April.
They appeared to be in cruise control at one point here, 2-0 up in less than 30 minutes and playing with authority, control, and swagger. Virgil van Dijk had opened the scoring with a header before Oxlade-Chamberlain added a superbly crafted second.
But Palace, who had looked befuddled to begin with, stormed back, and at times in the second half it looked like Patrick Vieira's vibrant, pacy side were about to crush the Reds' hopes.
Odsonne Edouard equalized, and if it hadn't been for Alisson's reflexes and anticipation, Palace might have won. Liverpool's goalkeeper saved the day.
He had already made significant contributions in the closing stages of the first half, denying Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta as Liverpool was caught on the counter-attack.
After the break, he responded brilliantly to keep out Edouard's close-range backheel, anticipating the striker's intentions to make a stunning save.

Then, with time running out and Liverpool clinging to their lead, Joachim Andersen played Olise in over the top. Alisson considered coming off his line at first, but quickly realized he'd never get there. As a result, he backpedaled, which was a wise decision given his circumstances to claw away Olise’s lobbed effort from just inside his post
