Former aide to the late President Jerry John Rawlings and member of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Dela Coffie has taken a swipe at proponents of the Mahama 2024 agenda.
In a long article backed with data on his Facebook page, he indicated that it was time to ditch John Mahama and leave the NDC with a viable option for 2024.
Data from the Electoral commission shows NDC has over the last three general elections performed below average 50.7% in 2012, 44.7% in 2016 and 47. 4% in 2020 with over 500,000 vote deficit. Mahama won 9 out of the 16 regions and was still outperformed by President Akufo-Addo in the last elections, he revealed.
Mr. Coffie however revealed data on the ground doesn't favour NDC victory if elections were held today with Mahama leading the party, inspite of NPP's numerous governance problems.
Presidential primaries in both leading political parties will be very interesting as the 2024 elections draws near. Dr. Kwabena Duffuour, Kwadwo Bonsu and other leading figures of the NDC are lacing their boots to contest 3-time contestant John Mahama.
Dela Coffie asserts the NDC needs more than political competence, a strategy overhaul and needs to realize that the changing demographics are totally turned against the failed course of Mahama.
