A 73 year old Long Island grandmother lures a yahoo boy who has been chatting her for sometime to her home and calls the police to arrest him.
It all begun when one of boys who has been chatting her claimed to be her grandson, knowing it was a scam, she told him to come and pick some money from her house where upon arrival he was arrested by the police, the grandmother narrated that, on Thursday morning she got a call from someone who claim to be her relative and had been arrested for drunk driving and needed $8,000 for bail.
This granny is only identified by her first name Jean, she told the local tv stations that she knew it was a scam because her grandsons are too young to drive.
“I knew from the start that it was a scam, he was definitely gonna scam me so I got him arrested†says miss Jean.
The young man who was arrested is identified by name Joshua Estrella Gomez, who is 28 years of age. He was charged with attempted grand larceny in third degree, said the Nassau county police department.
FBI data shows millions of older people are being scammed worth sums of money each year and the crimes keep worsening each year, during the COVID 19 pandemic, the FBI found out that people over the age of 60 years lost almost $1bn to these scammers.
