The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, is set to travel again this weekend for medical review in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai.
This development was revealed by the Member of Parliament for Asawase, Muntaka Mubarak during an interview on Thursday, January 27.
The Speaker, per reports, is set to return to Ghana from his trip on March 4, 2022.
This trip will mark the third time the Speaker traveled for medical review in Dubai.
The Speaker left the country for the UAE in November 2021 resulting in numerous chaos in the Chamber in his absence over the approval of the controversial Agyenkwa Budget.
The Speaker returned in December 2021 and left again for a medical review on January 7, 2022.
The Speaker returned to Ghana on January 23 before Parliament resumes sittings on January 25.
The Speaker is again expected to jet off this weekend for another medical review according to Muntaka Mubarak.
Meanwhile, the Majority caucus are striving assiduously to have the controversial 1.75 percent levy on electronic transactions passed.
The e-levy bill will be laid before Parliament next week for deliberations.
The Minority caucus on the other hand are against the levy as they say it is not right to tax capital.
