Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Lille attacker Jonathan David, but they will face competition from two London clubs.
Chelsea and Tottenham have already expressed interest in the exciting 22-year-old talent, according to ESPN.
Furthermore, the report claims that Arsenal is now considering the Ligue 1 forward as a possible target.
Lille is thought to prefer waiting until the end of the season before selling one of their prized assets. Any late movement this month, on the other hand, could spark a 'bidding war' for his signature.
David's agent stated in 2020 that Stamford Bridge is one of his client's dream destinations where he would like to play:
"He has supported Barcelona since he was a child." Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Chelsea are all in his dreams, but for the time being, we must remain humble," he said in February 2020, as quoted by The Daily Mail.
David has been steadily establishing himself since joining Lille in the summer of 2020, scoring 29 goals in 78 appearances for the French club.
His 16 goals in 30 games this season, including three in the Champions League, indicate that the youngster is only getting better.
Chelsea need another CF
Yes, Thomas Tuchel's Blues could use another forward in their lineup to compete with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.
They have plenty of attacking options who can fill a variety of roles, but it would be great to add another out-and-out striker to the squad, either in the final days of January or next summer.
Fortunately, they won't have to spend a dime to accomplish this.
Armando Broja, who is currently on loan with league rivals Southampton, is the man to fill the void in Chelsea's squad.
The 20-year-old centre-forward has been linked with a number of Premier League opponents. However, it would be fantastic to see him integrated into the senior group at Stamford Bridge.
