PSG midfielder Idrissa Gueye is allegedly being considered by Everton for a re-signing. Before moving to the French city in the summer of 2019, the Senegal international spent three seasons on Merseyside with Everton.
According to David Maddock of The Mirror, new Everton manager Frank Lampard wants to capture Gueye from PSG during the current transfer window to strengthen his squad.
Donny van de Beek of Manchester United is close to joining the club on loan till the end of the season. Gueye is the latest addition to the Toffees' roster. Idrissa Gueye joined Everton for £7 million from Aston Villa in the summer of 2016. The Merseyside club's midfielder established himself as a crucial player, impressing with his determination, work rate, and aggressiveness.
He appeared in 108 games for Everton, scoring four goals in all competitions. PSG, a French giant, took notice of his remarkable exploits.
Gueye moved to the Parc des Princes in a £30 million deal in the summer of 2019. During his first two seasons with the club, he was a first-team regular, but this season he has been in and out of the starting lineup. This season, he has made 20 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's side, scoring four goals in all competitions. During his career at PSG, Gueye has helped the team achieve a Ligue 1 title, two Coupe de France titles, and a Coupe de La Ligue trophy.
Gueye's work rate and physicality, despite his age, might make him a valuable asset for Everton. The Toffees are currently in 16th place in the Premier League standings.
After a 2-1 defeat to Norwich City earlier this month, the club parted ties with Rafael Benitez. Frank Lampard, the former Chelsea manager, has been selected as Everton's next manager for a two-and-a-half year contract.
If Everton are unable to sign Idrissa Gueye, they may turn to Dele Alli.
In recent years, PSG has relied heavily on Idrissa Gueye. This season, Mauricio Pochettino's side hopes to create a serious challenge for the Champions League championship.
They may be eager to keep their squad's depth intact. As a result, they may not be interested in selling the 32-year-old during the current transfer window.
Gueye is also said to be earning £110,000 per week on wages, which Everton may find difficult to match. As a result, the Toffees could switch their attention away from Gueye and toward Tottenham Hotspur's Dele Alli. Alli was previously regarded as one of the Premier League's top attacking midfielders. The 25-year-old has recently fallen out of favour and is now on the periphery of Tottenham's team. This season, he has only made ten Premier League appearances, scoring one goal.
According to The Sun, Frank Lampard wants to recruit Delle Alli on loan until the end of the season, giving him the chance to rekindle his career at Goodison Park.
