Arsenal are allegedly interested in signing Alvaro Morata, a former Chelsea striker, on deadline day. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly contacted Morata about a possible loan move, according to Spanish outlet Sport (via The Sun).

There have been no more changes as of yet, despite the fact that the transfer window is only a few hours away from closing.

Arsenal are in serious need of a striker, as indicated by their sloppy performance in their last encounter before the international break, a 0-0 draw against 20th-placed Burnley.

Both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah appeared in the game, but were unable to score due to a lack of clinical ability. In addition, the duo's contract expires in the summer. For much of the transfer window, the Gunners have been connected with Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic. Vlahovic, on the other hand, elected to join Juventus and was unveiled as the Bianconeri's newest acquisition last week.

Arsenal appears to have gotten a silver lining out of the transaction now. Because of Vlahovic's arrival, Morata, who is presently on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid, is expected to lose his starting spot. In turn, the former Chelsea striker could be considering a move away from Turin.

Morata was linked with a loan transfer to Barcelona earlier this month, according to reports. Atletico, on the other hand, is reluctant to let the 29-year-old join a direct domestic rival. Since then, the Blaugrana have moved their attention to out-of-favor Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Aubameyang is allegedly close to negotiating a loan deal to Barcelona, which would allow the Gunners to complete the transfer tussle by bringing in Alvaro Morata.

Arsenal are interested in signing him. Chelsea's Alvaro Morata struggled in the Premier League.

Despite the fact that Arsenal is in desperate need of a striker, there are still reservations about whether Morata would be the right fit for the club. When he played for Chelsea, the Spaniard struggled to find his feet in the Premier League and put up unimpressive figures.

In the summer of 2017, Morata joined the Blues from Real Madrid for a then-club-record fee of roughly £60 million. In his first season at Stamford Bridge, he made 48 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 goals. Only 11 strikes were recorded in 31 league games. In the first half of the 2018-19 season, the striker scored nine additional goals in 24 games (all competitions) for Chelsea before being loaned out to Atletico Madrid. Morata improved dramatically in the second half of the season, prompting the Rojiblancos to offer him a permanent contract.

The Spaniard was loaned out again, this time to Juventus, after only one full season at Wanda Metropolitano. During the 2020-21 season, Morata scored 20 goals in 44 appearances for the Old Lady in all competitions. This season, though, his figures have plummeted still again, as he has only scored eight times in 29 games (all comps).
