MICHAEL OWEN has shared the amusing text message he received from Manchester United's Jamie Carragher after making his debut.
The striker progressed through Liverpool's levels before spending a season with Real Madrid.
Owen joined fierce rivals United under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2009 after a spell at Newcastle.
Carragher kept in touch with the 38-year-old after his departure from Anfield and was curious by what happened on at Old Trafford and what the Scot's secret was to their success.
And, according to Owen, on the day he made his Manchester United debut, the former Liverpool centre-back texted him with a very particular inquiry about his new employer.
"I always remember going off the pitch for the first time and looking at my phone in the dressing room," he told Football Ramble.

"Carragher texted me; we're close friends.
"It stated, 'Phone me as soon as you can, friend, I want you to tell me how a Fergie team meeting goes.'""
During Fergie's 27-year tenure at Old Trafford, United won 13 Premier League titles, two Champions League titles, five FA Cups, and the Club World Cup.
However, if the soldiers required rousing, the renowned manager was notorious for unleashing "the hairdryer."
