Vincent Aboubakar (born 22 January 1992) is a striker who plays for the Cameroon national team. He also pays for the Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr.
Aboubakar has an impressive run at the AFCON 2021, scoring 6 goals and beating the record of Samuel Eto’o. Eto’o had a record of 5 goals at the AFCON and Aboubakar recently beat that.
Here are the goals Aboubakar scored:
2 goals against Burkina Faso
2 goals against Ethiopia
1 goal against Cape Verde
1 goal against Comoros
Following Cameroon’s upcoming clash with Egypt, Aboubakar has made some interesting comments about the Egyptian player, Mohammed Salah.
Salah helped his country proceed to the semi final stage of the competition by scoring a goal and providing an assist in the 2-1 victory over Morocco in the quarter-final.
Vincent Aboubakar was interviewed on Radio France Internationale before the game, and he was asked what he thinks about Mohammed Salah and their upcoming clash.
This is what he had to say:
“He doesn't impress me much. I say it clearly because I'm an honest person and I have my way of seeing things.
“If he impressed me, I would say so. But he doesn't impress me much. He's a good player, he scores a lot but he doesn't produce a lot of stuff in the game.”
Aboubakar also explained he thinks Salah is ‘not at the level’ of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe. According to him, Mbappe is much better than Salah.
“I see it as before. He is having a great season in the Premier League, he is helping his country to advance in the competition,” Aboubakar said.
“I wish him a lot of luck. May the best win!
