UTAG STRIKE: NLC CANCELS SCHEDULED MEETING AFTER UTAG DECLINED INVITATION

The National Labour Commission (NLC) has cancelled its planned assembly with the College Instructors Affiliation of Ghana (UTAG) and other parties included within the continuous strike by the College Instructors.



The assembly was planned to have taken put on February 7, 2022 at 11 am after the High Court had requested both parties to settle the matter out of court.


Be that as it may, UTAG in a letter dated February 4 declined the welcome by the NLC underlining that the more worthy approach within the show circumstances is to meet with the government side to undertake to press out the remaining contrasts.


This, the NLC said is the reason for the cancellation of its planned assembly which was gathered to have taken put nowadays.



Talking to JoyNews on Monday, the UTAG President of the College of Ghana Chapter, Dr. Samuel Nkumbaan repeated that the Affiliation thought it shrewd to meet with the government than the NLC which had recorded a suit against the Affiliation.


“…the determination of the matter is between we and Government not the Work Commission which is why we deferentially composed to decay the assembly since we thought the assembly was not an fitting gathering which in case we have a call up by our bosses we would respect and lock in with them…you cannot be in court with us and be the same person that's in between the two parties that have a stalemate locks in them and attempting to resolve their contrasts,” he said.


Concurring to Dr. Nkumbaan, the Affiliation beside the Ghana Tertiary Instruction Commission will hold a assembly with the Instruction Service on Tuesday, February 8 at 3 pm.
