Former Real Madrid teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are reportedly interested in reuniting at Paris Saint-Germain, according to Zinedine Zidane (PSG). The PSG post has been linked to the French tactician, with reports claiming he might take over from Mauricio Pochettino this summer.
According to El Nacional, Zidane has informed club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that if he is appointed manager, he wants them both in Paris. The pair worked under Zidane at Real Madrid, where they helped the club win three UEFA Champions League titles in a row. According to the report, the 37-year-old is also eager to leave Manchester United and has informed his agent Jorge Mendes of his intentions. The Parisians might take advantage of the circumstances and bring the Portuguese to the city, where he would be reunited with Lionel Messi.
The prospective additions of Zidane, Benzema, and Ronaldo would be a significant step in the right direction for the French giants, who have been desperately attempting to win their first UCL trophy.
Benzema's transfer from Real Madrid to PSG was not as smooth as Ronaldo's.
Ronaldo's transfer from Manchester United to Paris Saint-Germain appears to be uncomplicated. However, according to the aforementioned rumour, Benzema's move to the French giants may be contingent on the completion of another high-profile acquisition.
The Frenchman might be willing to stay in Madrid for a while. However, if Los Blancos are successful in their chase of Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland, the 34-year-old may decide to leave. With Kylian Mbappe expected to join Madrid in the summer, Benzema may struggle to get regular playing time.
Los Blancos have a year left on their deal with the former Lyon forward, and he wants at least a two-year extension. Florentino Perez, on the other hand, may opt for a move to Paris if Benzema's demands are not met.
