Cristiano Ronaldo's son, Cristiano Jr., has signed a new contract with Manchester United, following in his father's footsteps and joining the Premier League giants. Cristiano Ronaldo's son, Cristiano Jr., has officially signed for Manchester United.
The announcement comes just days after the 11-year-old was photographed training with his father during the Premier League's recent winter break.
Ronaldo's eldest son, named after the Portuguese legend, was pictured posing with United's famous No7 shirt after agreeing to stay in the club's youth system for another year.
Cristiano Jr stood alongside Gabriel, another promising talent who has over 26,000 Instagram followers and a Nike sponsorship deal.
Ronaldo has yet to respond to his son's new contract at Manchester United, and the youngster does not have his own social media account.
The 36-year-old recently posted photos of himself training with Cristiano Jr. with the caption "Present and future."
Ronaldo's remarks would imply that his oldest son has a chance to follow in his father's footsteps and become a professional footballer.
And he couldn't ask for a better role model than his father, who won the Champions League five times and the prestigious Ballon d'Or five times.
Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez have four children: Cristiano Jr., Eva, Mateo, and Alana Martina. This spring, the couple is expecting twins.
Despite Cristiano Jr.'s promising football career, Ronaldo has promised not to put his oldest son under any pressure.
"Only time will tell," the football legend said in Georgina's new Netflix show, I Am Georgina. "I will never put any pressure on him. He'll do whatever he wants "What I most want for Cristiano and everyone else is for them to be happy and to be able to choose what they want. I will help in any way I can."
Ronaldo went on to say in December 2020: "We'll see if my son develops into a great footballer. He has promise. He is quick and dribbles well, but enough.
