MANCHESTER UNITED'S Robin van Persie shone at Old Trafford throughout his time there.
The Glazers, who own Manchester United, are debating who to nominate as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's permanent replacement. Mauricio Pochettino, despite the club's interest in Luis Enrique and Erik ten Hag, appears to be the frontrunner. If the current PSG manager is appointed, he may be able to sign Harry Kane and mold him into the club's next Robin van Persie.
Regardless of who is in charge, Manchester United will recruit a new forward this summer.
On Friday, interim manager Ralf Rangnick confirmed this, saying the club would want to sign a younger version of Edinson Cavani.
At the end of the season, Cavani is anticipated to leave Old Trafford. He planned to depart a year ago, but after a solid finish to the season, he ended up renewing his contract.
The 34-year-old might play in La Liga or return to South America after missing Saturday's match against Southampton due to injury.
Cristiano Ronaldo's future is also in doubt.
Despite his success since returning from Juventus, the Portugal international is dissatisfied with his life at the Theatre of Dreams.

Why would he be, after all? United is aiming for a place in the Champions League rather than the Premier League title. No trophy is expected to be awarded, bringing their trophy drought to a sixth year.
And if Pochettino is hired by United, there's a good chance he'll want to work with Kane again.
For many years, Kane has been a world-class player. Since Pochettino's departure, he's performed admirably under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
Yet, when he was at his happiest, he was with the Argentine.
Pochettino aided Kane's development into the A-lister he is now, putting his trust in the England international while he was still learning the game.

During Kane's first season as manager, the 49-year-old scored 21 goals in 34 league games.
The following year, he scored 25 goals in 38 games, and in 2016/2017, he scored 29 goals in 30 games.
Kane then scored 30 goals in the Premier League the next season under Pochettino, before still managing 17 goals from 28 games in the 2018/2019 season as Tottenham reached the Champions League final.
While Kane has battled for consistency this season under Antonio Conte, he remains a gold mine.
If Pochettino reunites with the player at Old Trafford, there's a chance he may help him become the club's next Van Persie.

United recruited the Dutch international from Arsenal in 2012, when he was already a polished product and widely regarded as one of the top strikers in the world.
And he didn't disappoint the following season, scoring 30 goals as United won the Premier League.
Since then, they've added Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Cavani to their ranks.
Nonetheless, by the time they signed on the dotted line, all three players were undoubtedly past their prime.
Kane, at the age of 28, has a lot more to offer.

The England international is ready to enter his prime years and will leave Tottenham if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Despite the fact that United is also battling to enter the top four, their standing as one of the world's most powerful clubs ensures that they will always be able to attract the best players.
And if they do appoint Pochettino, the Glazers may have found the ideal hook for a move.
Spurs would hate to lose Kane to one of their closest rivals, but after denying him a transfer away last summer, they may cave in to avoid a repeat of the disaster.
What happens in the end is something that only time will tell.
