Liverpool player ratings for their 1-0 Premier League victory over Burnley.
Alisson Becker
Brownhill and Rodriguez made excellent saves in the first half, and he regularly swept up – often with his head – in difficult conditions. He even made saves when he didn't have to because of a string of late offside calls.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
There were a lot of misplaced passes early on, but good deliveries created opportunities for Mane and the winner. On occasion, Liverpool's ability to hit long got them out of trouble.
Matip, Joel
The first half was a mixed bag, with some shaky distribution mixed in with a number of welcome interceptions, but good defending as Burnley pressed later on.
Van Dijk, Virgil
Before the break, he assisted in catching Burnley offside several times and defended with increasing assurance. Another solid performance.
Andy Robertson
There were some difficult moments in the wind, and I wasn't always on target with passing going forward. In the second half, he kept his attacking sorties to a minimum.
Fabinho
Another who struggled with passing early on but helped Liverpool wrest control of the midfield by winning second balls and being the first to react to score the winner. In 2022, a certified goal machine will be available.
Keita, Naby
The only Liverpool midfielder who used the ball well in the first half and came close to scoring with a shot saved by Pope. As Burnley sought an equalizer, he kept things moving. Subbed.
Jordan Henderson
In the conditions, there were too many overly ambitious passes, which were exacerbated by an injury sustained when he was booked for a tackle on Pieters. Subbed.
Salah Mohamed
Flitted in and out of the game for the majority of the first period, but started to find space before the break. Pieters' second half performance, on the other hand, was underwhelming.
Firmino, Roberto
He was far too peripheral and frustrated with his final pass, especially in the second half when more space became available for him.
Sadio Mane
Lively and forceful down the left, forcing one save from Pope and providing the first goal with a flick-on. Subbed.
Thiago Alcantara (for Henderson 59) 6
In possession in midfield, he provided much-needed calm.
Diogo Jota
There was little impact, and it was missed late chance to settle match.
