According to authorities, a school teacher was detained in Nigeria for reportedly whipping a 19-month-old kid to death.
After beating the toddler last Monday, the instructor at a nursery and primary school in Asaba, Delta State, is accused of leaving various marks on his body.
After catching the student playing with water, the suspect, who is assumed to be the son of the private school owner, reportedly began hitting him.He is said to have spoken nothing about the event.
After the incident, the student was alleged to have been unwell and was brought to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Asaba, where he died.
DSP Dafe Bright, a police spokeswoman, told BBC Pidgin that the suspect will be prosecuted for murder and manslaughter.
