HAD BEEN ORDERED BY COURT TO SUSPEND THEIR STRIKE ACTIONS

Today on the 15th of February, 2022, the Accra High Court for the third time sat on the case brought to them by the National Labour commission (NLC) seeking for interlocutory injunction on the University Teachers Association of ghana (UTAG) strike actions mainly to make UTAG return to the classrooms to begin teaching and learning.

The court at its maximum authority ordered both NLC and UTAG leadership  two consecutive times to settle matter out of court. This was done after the first and second hearing. The court in Accra was presided over by His Lordship Justice Frank Rockson Aboadwe.

Thus, today after the court ruling, NLC and Government have been ordered to as soon as possible to meet the demands of UTAG. The court after  today’s hearing ordered the UTAG to suspend their strike and go back to the classroom before their return to court on 22nd February, 2022 for the subtentive matters to be discussed.
