The Police Service has detained 25 people who are suspected of being engaged in a number of robbery crimes that have been reported across the country.
From February 1 to 14, 2022, these arrests were made.
The accused are Moses Walewale, Kwame Ansong, Nana Kow Mensah, Eric Abi Aidoo, Bismark Abugri, Kanita Gariba Zule, Eliasu Awudu, Abubakar Ali, Haruna Mohammed, Nicholas Mills, and Dennis Mawuli, according to a Facebook post by the police.
Nana Kwame, Jojo Kwame Nhyira, Kwadwo Peter aged, Kwame Barko, Ebenezer Pupulapu, Francis Mahama, Alexander Agyeman, Badu Gabriel, Nii Addo, Evans Koffie, Baba Shaibu Iddrisu, and Michael Divuo are the others.
They were captured thanks to strong collaboration between the police and residents of the affected communities.
Meanwhile, the Ghanaian police have extended their gratitude to the many Ghanaians who assisted with the investigation and arrest of the offenders.
The Service has reiterated its commitment to fighting robbery across the country.
"We are convinced that if communities continue to work with police in our crime-fighting efforts, we can make our country safer today than it was yesterday, and more peaceful today than tomorrow," the statement said.
