According to Fabrizio Romano, Sevilla already are looking for potential alternatives for Jules Kounde if the Chelsea FC target leaves the club this summer.
Chelsea FC will "insist" on signing Jules Kounde from Sevilla this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, and the Spanish club is already looking for potential substitutions for the defender.
The south west London club have long been heavily linked for Kounde, and it remains to be seen if they will increase their pursuit of the 23-year-old this summer.
In recent days, reports in the British media have recommended that Chelsea FC are intending a summer move to sign Kounde, with Italian journalist Romano himself claiming that Kounde is the Blues' "top target" ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Romano has taken to social media once again to provide an update on Kounde's future, stating that Sevilla have begun looking for possible replacements for the player should he leave the La Liga club at the end of the season.
The Italian journalist also claims that Chelsea FC's preferred option to strengthen in central defense this summer is Kounde, after learning that PSG will just not entertain the idea of selling the Blues' "dream" target, Marquinhos, this summer.
Making a post on Twitter on Tuesday, Romano wrote: "Sevilla is already looking into the market in circumstance Jules Kounde leaves in June, including Serie A options." It is not yet time to make decisions, but Sevilla is working on it.
"Chelsea will be adamant about getting Kounde – Marquinhos was Chelsea's dream, but PSG will not sell him."
Since joining Sevilla from Bordeaux in the summer of 2019, France international Kounde has did score seven goals in 116 games for the Spanish club.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC is preparing for their Premier League match against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
