After scoring two late goals against Inter Milan in the San Siro, Liverpool have boosted their chances of reaching the Champions League quarter-finals.

Following Liverpool's triumph in the first leg of their Champions League tie, manager Jurgen Klopp claimed the job was far from done.

"It's still dangerous, so it's half time," Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers remarked after the game.

"We don't feel halfway through or anything like that; we know it'll be a tough one, and we have to be ready for them, and they're incredibly excellent," Sky Sports News tweeted.

"It's halftime, and that's all there is to it."

Klopp stated that Diogo Jota's ankle injury was the only setback in their triumph over the Italian team.

At the start of the second half, Jota was substituted by Roberto Firmino, who scored the game's first goal at the San Siro.

"Everything is fine with me until Diogo [Jota] going off," Klopp stated.

"We had to change because the ankle was swollen at the break," Klopp explained.

"Twisted ankle, it was swollen," the German remarked when pressed about the injuries. So that's not encouraging, but we'll have to wait and see.

"We'll check it as soon as we can tomorrow [Thursday], but we need more information."

The Reds appeared to be heading for a goalless draw in the first leg in Italy until Roberto Firmino got on the end of Andrew Robertson's corner to put his side ahead.
