In a recent interview with the Italian media outlet, the champions league winner revealed that a move to Manchester City was more likely than a move to Stamford Bridge in 2018.
"A bid came in, and... you don't know, man. I'm not going to say anything. No, I'm not serious. Man, I wasn't supposed to come to Chelsea. I was supposed to arrive at a different club. Another English sports club. But it's not a closely guarded secret. You can find it if you search for it on the internet. "Manchester City."
The 30-year-old midfielder stated his passion for Pep Guardiola and expressed his desire to play for him in the coming years.
It remains to be seen if it will occur to him now that he is in his thirties.
"It's a dream of mine to play under Guardiola." I'm not sure if it will [happen]. But he is a reference. When I was a kid, I used to watch his Barcelona team win everything with Ronaldinho, Xavi, and Iniesta."
