Mourinho has a word for Liverpool after their unbeaten match streaks at Anfield was ended by Burnley.
Jose Mourinho has applauded Liverpool FC on coming so nearer to matching Chelsea FC's Premier League record home run.
The Merseyside club were defeated 1-0 by Burnley on Thursday evening, extending their worrying run of form under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool FC here have failed to win any of their last 5 Premier League games, dropping them to fourth place in the table and six points behind leaders Manchester City.
Liverpool FC's 68-game undefeated streak at Anfield in the Premier League came to an end last week when they were defeated by Burnley, falling just short of breaking Chelsea FC's record of 86 game play without defeat between 2004 as well as 2008.
Mourinho, who was in control of Chelsea FC for the majority of that time, lauded Liverpool FC for coming so close to breaking the record.
Mourinho said at a news conference on Friday, "You know, the records are just there to be broken." Even the most amazing athletes in a variety of sports.
"However, there are also some records that, when you look at them, you feel like it's almost impossible for someone to do it."
“And, to be honest, what Liverpool 've done was incredible. What they did was extremely difficult to accomplish.
"Of course, our record from the Chelsea era remains the record, and it would be extremely difficult for someone to do better than that."
"However, congratulations to Liverpool on their incredible run from not having lost a Premier League game at home for so long."
Liverpool FC is currently training for their FA Cup fourth-round match against Manchester United, which will take place on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford.
